Royal Mail has been named the best parcel delivery company in the country with 37% of votes in our reader poll.
Close behind was the postal service Amazon – which received 27% of the vote – and DPD, which followed behind with 19%.
Meanwhile, Evri and Yodel were by far the least popular among our readers, up 14% and 3% respectively our survey respectively.
The news follows an annual survey by Citizens Advice which found delivery services in the UK were described by customers as “miserable” for the third year in a row.
According to the new study, 13.3 million people experienced a delivery problem last month alone, such as packages being left in unsafe locations or arriving late.
In fact, none of the major parcel companies have managed to secure even a three-star rating in the charity’s rankings.
At the other end of the scale, Yodel had the lowest scores: 40% of customers reported a problem, while DPD reported 37% and Evri 34%.
What did the Citizen Advice survey say about UK delivery services?
Citizens Advice said there had been no improvements in its assessment of delivery problems compared to last year, with the rate of parcel problems remaining “generally far too high”.
Citizens Advice’s parcel rankings examine the top five delivery companies by parcel volume and measure their performance against criteria such as customer service, delivery issues and accessibility requirements, such as: B. when people take longer to answer the door.
Of consumers who had a problem with their delivery, almost half (43%) subsequently had another problem when trying to resolve the issue, such as: E.g. they couldn’t find the company’s correct contact information or didn’t receive a response.
In the end, more than half of those who had further problems (53%) found it difficult to resolve their problem. This number rose to 60% of people with a disability.
Almost all delivery services scored two stars or less when it came to meeting the needs of customers with disabilities or those who require adjustments in the way they receive packages.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We are delighted to share top spot in Citizens Advice’s parcels list. We are working hard to further improve our service quality and continue to introduce more convenient options for customers to access our services, including automatic redelivery and delivery to a safe location preferences.”
Elsewhere, Yodel responded: “We welcome feedback and are investing heavily to continually improve our service. However, this report does not reflect our own parcel data, which indicates that 98.7% of the 200 million parcels we processed in the last 12 months were delivered correctly on the first try.
