The US Air Force Boeing Osprey lands at Teesside Airport
A few days after the RAF conducted a training exercise from Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and across Teesside, a US Air Force aircraft was seen by members of the public flying over parts of Yarm, Middlesbrough and Guisborough.

There were several reports from Teesside residents on Wednesday (August 30) of a plane bearing the US flag insignia. People on social media reported hearing a loud noise before noticing the vehicle.

On social media, one person said: “Did anyone else see that big plane flying overhead?” while another added: “That noise sounded like a hurricane – it was so loud.”
However, there was some clarity on Thursday (August 31) when Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen reported on the landing of a US Air Force Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey at Teesside International Airport.

Releasing images of the aircraft from photographer James Garthwaite, the mayor said: “We’ve had a busy summer at Teesside International Airport with new passenger and cargo flights, but we had something completely different at our airport yesterday – a US Air Force Bell Boeing V -22 Osprey.
