The Witcher 3 next-gen release date may be revealed by the game store worker in the UK

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is unlikely to be the best of its generation, most likely in a three-way tie with The Legend of Zelda and The Last of Us. If there’s one game that needs a “remaster” for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, The Witcher 3 tops the list.

We’re surprised CDPR didn’t buy all the hype surrounding The Witcher in the first two games.

Unfortunately, while we’ve known for some time that Projekt RED was working on a repackaged Witcher 3 that would include the base game and all of its expansions and DLCs, the Polish studio refused to release a date. It’s been a while since The Witcher 3 is currently due out later this year, but a specific release date isn’t available.

According to an anonymous employee of a video game retailer in the UK, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on December 9th on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.

The leaked image below shows the forthcoming available pre-orders as well as the final release date for each title. The updated The Witcher 3 release date is included in the list. While this is not official information, the fact that the image is not accessible from the source suggests that someone, perhaps CDPR, removed it.

I’m working on a game. The Witcher 3 Next Gen just got an update on our screen. Could be placeholder? is that a witch?

We learned a lot of things about CDPR plans a few weeks ago. CDPR confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a full sequel, but the first game will only have a single expansion. Also, CDPR has negotiated that future Cyberpunk and Witcher games will have a multiplayer element. CDPR is also working on the first IP from the previous series. Finally, CDPR claims that the next Witcher game is the first planned trilogy.

TLDR: There will be many games from CDPR that will be released later this year.

Fingers crossed, the current version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will support 4K HDR at 120 fps.

For now, fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the PlayStation 5 and S/X will have to “settle” them. The Witcher 3 next-gen release date may be revealed by the game store worker in the UK
