“You can just see how much the city and the fans love the club and that’s why we want to try to help them and steer them in the right direction.
“To me they should be a football league team but we know it’s not easy to get them there.
“The biggest thing for the club is to stabilize everything, make sure everyone is clear about what we’re doing and have a plan that everyone sticks to.”
“But also having the fans with us on this journey and I think we need to have more dialogue with the fans and give a weekly update on how things are going on and off the pitch.
“Ultimately we know that not everyone is going to like everything, but at least if everyone knows the direction we are going and we believe that we are all in this together, then I believe that the fans will continue to support the club.” way through.”
Morton also praised the fans, admitting that the whole team and even some of his friends took note of the atmosphere that prevails on matchdays.
“It’s interesting because friends came to some of the home and away games and even some of the staff like Macca [Tony McMahon] Who played in the Premier League is Joe [Stead] who has worked with Wigan, Leeds and Halifax and seen the leagues.
“We were on the bus coming back from the county game and everyone was like, ‘Wow.’
