Thing: Asmongold fears Twitch is going to die from new life-changing promotions that are promising to revive its potential

Asmongold is furious with Twitch’s new Ads Incentive Program, where streamers earn 55 percent of the net revenue Twitch earns from each ad on their channel.

Twitch described it as a big win for streamers, claiming it could mean they could see between 50 and 150 percent more revenue based on the cost per thousand impressions calculated from previous years. However, considering that this could be the case, Asmongold believes it creates another problem that can be deadly.

By incentivizing more than eight minutes of advertising per hour, Twitch effectively paid streamers to kill their channel and ultimately the site, he said, but hasn’t changed his mind, believing it would annoy streamers to broadcast them more frequently.

The best-selling star warned: Don’t be surprised if this becomes the norm. They give up money that almost everyone will pay them.

At 8 minutes of advertising per hour, a Twitch streamer is effectively paying to kill their channel and eventually the site. Also avoid being shocked if this becomes the norm, the amount of money being offered can be practically life changing.

A contentious aspect of the new Ads Incentive Program is that streamers claim they paid money to stream ads, and ultimately their share differs from their own.

Asmongold believes this is decided by an algorithm that weighs your viewership and maybe a few other factors, and then automatically generates a number. It turns out to be correct.

Tenths of companies have verified ad revenue based on multiple factors such as size of their audience, location, language, geography, etc. Therefore there is a difference between stars.

I think it’s simply decided by an algorithm that weighs your viewership and maybe a few other factors and then automatically creates a number.

It’s not the first time Asmongold has predicted Twitch’s advertising approach, and advertising could be its downfall. In July 2022, he said that the reason they are losing the platform war against YouTube is that they are wasting time.

If his dissatisfaction with Twitch continues and YouTube accepts it and offers him huge bags, don’t be surprised if the veteran decides to switch sides.
