Thomas Partey injury: Arsenal midfielder will be out for “a few weeks”, says Mikel Arteta

Arsenal have confirmed that Thomas Partey has suffered a groin injury after the midfielder missed Sunday’s game against Manchester United.
Partey was surprisingly absent from Ghana’s latest squad, and his national team’s football association released a statement saying Arsenal had informed them that the midfielder would be sidelined “for a while” after suffering an unspecified injury in training .
The Gunners remained silent on the issue on Saturday when the news broke, but confirmed the news in a short statement on Sunday, ahead of the big game at the Emirates Stadium.
The tweet said: “Thomas Partey is missing from the squad due to a groin injury.”
After the game, Arteta admitted his fears about how long the midfielder will be sidelined.
He said: “Unfortunately he got injured in training. It does not look good. I think he will be out for a few weeks. It’s more of a groin area
It is the eighth injury Partey has suffered in three years at Arsenal, but the first in 11 months, having been sidelined twice at the start of last season.
The 30-year-old has now missed a total of 45 games for both the Gunners and Ghana.
