Three victims of a fatal crash on the A61 near Ripon have been named
North Yorkshire police officers have confirmed the identities of the woman and two children who died in the collision on the A61 near Ripon on Sunday (September 3).
A police spokesman said: “They are Daria Bartienieva, 35, her son Ihor Bartienieva, six years old, and Daria’s stepdaughter Anastasiia Bartienieva, 15 years old.”
“All three were from Ukraine and were living in Ripon, North Yorkshire at the time of the collision.
“Our thoughts are currently with her family members in the UK and Ukraine.”
The incident happened on the A61 between South Stainley and Ripley at around 2.20pm on Sunday.
The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Meriva, a blue Toyota Aygo and a double-decker bus.
The Vauxhall and Toyota were traveling south towards Ripley and the bus was traveling in the opposite direction.
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw one of the vehicles before the collision or witnessed the collision to come forward if they have not already spoken to officers.
They are also appealing to anyone who has dashcam footage of vehicles traveling on the A61 before the collision or of the collision itself to contact us.
