TMU suspends men’s soccer team for alleged ‘concerning behavior’

Toronto Metropolitan University has suspended its men’s soccer team and is investigating them for “serious and concerning behavior.”

The school issued a statement saying it had received a report about the unspecified behavior and that the team would be suspended until “further notice.”

TMU has already lost two away games.

The team was scheduled to play Laurentian on Saturday and Nipissing on Sunday.

A spokesman said the school “cannot confirm any further details, including the nature of the allegations, as an investigation is ongoing.”

Among the details that could not be confirmed was a report in the Eyeopener, one of the school’s student newspapers, which claimed the behavior was linked to hazing.
