Toby Jones visits the Spice Lounge in Durham City for dinner
During its normal service schedule on Saturday (October 14), Spice Lounge in Durham had the opportunity to serve award-winning actor Toby Jones.
With the wait staff and manager at Spice Lounge overwhelmed at serving such a prominent name, the venue couldn’t resist posting a photo of the actor after he enjoyed his meal on Saturday.

With the caption “It was a pleasure serving our delicious meal to such a great gentleman at our venue last night,” the accompanying photo shows Toby Jones and Spice Lounge manager Akki Miah.
It is understood the actor visited County Durham while attending the Durham Book Festival. which took place in the city this weekend.
During the literary event, he gave a world-exclusive live reading of Benjamin Myers’ novel Cuddy, inspired by the life of Saint Cuthbert and his journey to his final resting place in Durham Cathedral.
And it seems the actor, who starred in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, the Dad’s Army film and played the voice of Dobby in Harry Potter, was visiting County Durham for the book festival but likes his curry on the spicy side .

After a member of the public asked Spice Lounge in the comments section what the actor ordered, the restaurant replied with King Prawn Korai (Vindaloo Hot).
Meanwhile, Spice Lounge continues to enjoy success, having won numerous awards over the years, including Best Restaurant in the Region, as well as achieving national success over the years.
At this year’s Asian Curry Awards, the restaurant’s Syed Akki Miah was named Manager of the Year – a testament to the venue’s prestigious nature.
