Tom Brady makes telling admission about Buccaneers following shocking loss to Steelers

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 20-18 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. This loss was one of the most shocking in a day full of surprising surprises. The Buccaneers were big favorites and the Steelers were missing several key players and even lost their starting quarterback to injury.

After the loss, Brady took to Instagram to talk about the game. He shared a photo of himself with two of his offensive linemen, and the caption says a lot about the Buccaneers’ current state.

brady wrote:

“Football is tough. We don’t play the way we can. We’re in this together.

The legendary quarterback struggled with the loss, throwing just 243 yards and a single touchdown against a weak secondary who was missing several starters.

The overall offense failed to generate much, as their only touchdown came late in the fourth quarter after they had only scored four field goals up to that point.

The loss drops the Buccaneers to 3-3 and takes first place in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons, a team they narrowly defeated the week before.

Are Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in trouble?

Tom Brady has only missed the playoffs once in his illustrious career, and that was in 2002. He’s never finished below .500, but both could very well be true this year.

The Buccaneers are 3-3, and they’re lucky to have those three wins. They defeated the Dallas Cowboys in an ugly fashion as the Cowboys played horribly on offense and lost their quarterback.

There was a controversial call that helped the Buccaneers beat the Falcons last week. Being 3-3 isn’t too impressive, but they could be a lot worse.

Still, there’s a good chance they’ll make it to the playoffs. FiveThirtyEight gives you the following chances:

  • 81% chance of reaching the playoffs
  • 73% chance of winning the division
  • 4% chance of a bye in the first round
  • 6% chance of winning the Super Bowl

Those are pretty good odds, especially considering the Falcons, the Buccaneers’ biggest threat right now, only have a 35 percent chance of making the playoffs.

However, should Brady and the Buccaneers suffer any more of those inexplicable losses, their chances could be seriously hurt. For now, it’s early enough that it doesn’t matter much.
