Tony Khan: “It would be very interesting with a Tony Khan if he took over”

Bill Apter recently discussed rumors of Vince McMahon selling WWE to the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund and the possibility of Tony Khan buying the company.

Talking about the latest issue of Sportskeeda Wrestling UnscriptedApter claimed that some fans may turn their backs on the promotion because of what happened in Saudi Arabia.

He further mentioned that if Khan decides to buy the company, how could that lead to a potential WWE vs. AEW scenario as he would own both promotions.

“You know, let’s get back to the Saudi thing first, because of all the negative things that have happened in Saudi Arabia, unfortunately, a lot of the public is going to turn their backs on WWE because of it. Maybe I’m totally wrong. With a Tony Khan it would be very interesting if he took over that if he just left it alone. Then the great war, AEW vs WWE, he has them both now. said Bill Apter [12:07-12:44]

Bill Apter stated that Tony Khan’s purchase of WWE was not entirely out of the question

During the same issue of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s UnscriptedBill Apter mentioned that the entire story of WWE sales revolved around Vince McMahon’s ego.

He also noted that the industry has seen some of the most amazing things over the years. apter added:

“You’re talking about amazing things that have happened in this business, don’t say no. If the money happens to them, don’t say no. But would it be embarrassing for someone like Vince McMahon to lose his ego is a very important part of this whole thing.”

Tony Khan currently owns AEW and ROH. His Jacksonville-based promotion could be viewed as WWE’s direct North American rival after WCW’s dissolution a few years ago.
