Tottenham have offered Ryan Mason a place in Ange Postecoglou’s backroom team

Spurs are still in the process of completing Postecoglou’s team after naming the Australian as the permanent successor to Antonio Conte on a four-year deal.
Postecoglou usually travels alone but would like his Celtic second John Kennedy to accompany him around north London, although the Bhoys want to keep the Scot.
Mason threw his hat in the ring for the Spurs permanent job during his second tenure as interim manager for the last six games of last season and has repeatedly stressed he is “ready” for a permanent managerial role.
The 31-year-old will hold talks with chairman Daniel Levy before deciding on his future as he has already attracted serious interest from at least two Championship clubs, one in Europe and one in the Middle East.
Spurs are unlikely to let go of Mason and will offer him a role after talks with Postecoglou, but it remains to be seen whether the former England midfielder would rather break his teeth elsewhere.

Mason took over from Conte’s immediate successor and former assistant Cristian Stellini after Spurs’ humiliating 6-1 defeat at Newcastle, and recorded two wins and one draw in six games.
Although results weren’t good enough to secure Spurs a European spot, Mason (left) enlisted the support of several veteran players. He was also handed interim management for the final seven games of the 2020–21 season following Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
