Tottenham manager news: ‘Amazing’ candidate is ‘ready’ after winning league title, Michel Vorm tells Spurs

The ex-goalkeeper has described the rave reviews he’s heard about the 44-year-old Dutchman, who is among a shrinking list of potential candidates for the job after Tottenham missed out on Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino.
“I think he’s ready,” Vorm is quoted as saying Football.London as said at a benefit game in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.
“He showed that because I know the Dutch league well and I know what he’s done so far and I’ve spoken to a lot of players in Holland and over the years at AZ and now Feyenoord how positive they are about him and his the way he communicates with and treats all the players and they have done so well.
“If you look at how they did last season and now have won the title. He did a great job and he would definitely be a good fit for me.”
Slot took over Feyenoord in December 2020 and guided them to the Dutch league title as well as last year’s Europa Conference League semi-finals.
Tottenham aren’t the first club to be linked with his signing and Vorm has given his verdict on a turbulent season in north London that could nonetheless see him end up outside of European places.
“It’s been a very difficult season,” he noted. “You hope they’ve managed to turn things around in the last couple of games, but it’s been very difficult.
“The last two games, Brentford and Leeds, you just hope they finish as strong as possible, but we’ll see. I think the whole season has had a lot of ups and downs and it’s just one of those seasons.”
