Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jack Grealish withdraw from the England squad due to injury concerns

Gareth Southgate’s side have two games in the international break, starting with Euro 2024 against Ukraine in Poland on Saturday evening before a friendly against Scotland in Glasgow three days later.
The duo joined the England squad on Monday but Alexander-Arnold is suffering from a hamstring injury and Grealish has a hamstring problem and they will not play a role for the Three Lions in the coming games.
“The pair reported to St George’s Park on Monday but have since withdrawn from the Three Lions squad following injury assessments prior to camp,” a statement said.
“All other players are ready to play as planned, with the exception of Kieran Trippier, who will arrive on Wednesday due to a personal commitment.”
Alexander-Arnold sustained a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s win over Aston Villa on Sunday, forcing the defender to be substituted with 20 minutes remaining at Anfield. When asked about the game, Jurgen Klopp was unsure about the severity of the problem.
“It would have been cool if Trent hadn’t felt his Achilles tendon,” said Klopp. “We will know more after a scan. Let’s hope it’s nothing serious.”
Grealish was completely missing from the squad when Manchester City beat Fulham and is now out of the national team due to the thigh problem.
