Corrie star Samia Longchambon has revealed her fears of trolling for her baby daughter while discussing one of the show’s upcoming storylines.
Actress Maria Connor has daughter Freya with ex Matt and son Yves with husband Sylvain Longchambon.
Corrie fans know, thanks to recent spoilers, that Maria will soon be the victim of vile trolls on the ITV soap.
And now, actress Samia has spoken candidly about her experience with trolls and why the storyline made her fear for her 12-year-old daughter.

“I certainly had trolls,” she told Entertainment Daily and other outlets.

“To the point where it was really annoying and not nice to read. As many times as people say, “Don’t read it,” it’s almost like picking a scab.
“Part of you just wants to know what other people are reading about, what other people are saying about you, I’ve experienced that with myself in the past.
“If someone writes this about me, then I want to know what other people are reading about me. It’s really hurtful and it’s awful.”
Samia on despicable abuse
Samia continued: “It’s definitely influenced me over the years. It really shakes your confidence because even if you get 99 nice comments, you only remember that one horrible comment.
I’m really nervous that she’s using it for these reasons.
“I feel like there should be more regulation online, especially for young people who are on social media now, and I look at my daughter, she’s 12.
“And she uses social media, and I’m really nervous that she’s using it for those reasons, you’re such an easy target on social media.”
But Samia admitted she has the perfect way of dealing with trolls – blocking them.
“Block, just block,” she said.
“That’s all you can do, isn’t it? You will always meet people who say nasty things.

“Unfortunately on social media the majority of people are nice and everyone’s really gorgeous and positive but those people who were just negative I think it’s such a cliché but it says more about them than you.
“And what I’ve learned over the past few years is that it really just says more about her and how she feels about herself.”
