A body language expert has revealed what she believes to be the “truth” behind Luca Bish’s reaction to Davide and Ekin-Su’s victory on Love Island.
Viewers believe Luca and his reality TV partner Gemma were “angry” when they finished second in the ITV2 series.
Shortly after Laura Whitmore’s result was announced, Luca appeared to frown. Social media users were quick to accuse him of being “moody” and not “merciful in defeat.”
And now Judi James has claimed the 23-year-old was “surprised” by the result.
“Truth” behind Luca’s reaction to Love Island
Judi, known to Big Brother viewers for her body language analysis, claims Luca “found it hard” to smile before the winners were announced.
She claimed: “I think he was trying to remember to smile and that awful Rictus grin came up, but obviously after the other two win you have a shot of him frowning and then suddenly realizing that ‘the other cameras are pointing at us’. .

Judi went on to explain how a smile is created around the eyes – but Luca’s grin didn’t look real to her.
She added: “It’s called a flash smile when it comes out of nowhere and then disappears into nowhere as well. You know that a smile takes a long time to go through the face and it starts with the eyes. He’s just trying it with his mouth, and it looks completely without authenticity.”
“You can see his thought process”
Judi also speculated that Luca and Gemma may have been surprised to lose. She suggests they may have perceived each other as the “real couple.”
She also suggested that Luca’s body language may have given away his true feelings throughout the series.

Judi continued: “You can follow his train of thought throughout the run. He starts off with this staccato head movement trying to figure out what happened and catches a look in the eyes, but then he reacts.”
She added that many of the other cast members would have been better at “smiling politely” in situations like this.
