TUI currently operates flights from the UK to Melbourne-Orlando, the airport in Florida that families primarily visit on Disney vacations.

The tour operator’s flights originally landed at Orlando Sandford Airport but switched to Melbourne-Orlando earlier this year.

Flights from Glasgow and Birmingham to Melbourne-Orlando Airport were canceled yesterday.

More routes were affected today as flights from Gatwick and Newcastle were cancelled.

“Due to some infrastructure impacts, we are unable to operate TUI flights into Melbourne Orlando Airport until Saturday 1 October.

“We are in the process of contacting all affected customers to inform them of their rescheduled flight times.”

The airport currently states on social media, “As of 6:00 a.m. today, Melbourne Orlando International Airport has reopened and resumed normal operations following #HurricaneIan.”

Hurricane Ian made landfall Wednesday afternoon, pounding the state with winds reaching 150 miles per hour and inundating entire counties.
