Twitter Blasts Yellowstone Star Kevin Costner After He Backs Wyoming Republican Candidate Liz Cheney

John Dutton makes headlines.
This recently became known Kevin Costner is the highest paid tv actor on television with his whopping salary of $1.3 million per episode. and
Other actors in the Taylor Sheridan universe, Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, are each making $1 million per episode for the upcoming prequel series 1923, and Sylvester Stallone, who stars in Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming show tulsa king, will also make $1 million per episode.
But now Costner is making headlines for a whole different reason.
Wearing a T-shirt that read “I support Liz Cheney,” Costner was just drawing a political line in the sand.
She shared the photo with the caption:
“Real men put country before party.”

I mean, I can’t say I disagree with the “country over party sentiment.” We would probably be much better off if politicians could put the good of the country ahead of their own political party.
Other than that, I don’t really have a damn clue about Wyoming’s political landscape, nor am I sure this photo is even real. Costner doesn’t seem the type to wear a political t-shirt like that on set. Having said that, it would also be utter madness to tamper with a promotional photo… pretty sure that’s illegal.
Here’s what I know: Liz Cheney (oldest daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney) is a Republican representative in the state of Wyoming seeking re-election against a challenge from Harriet Hageman, who is backed by former President Donald Trump.
After Jan. 6, Cheney announced her support for President Trump, and it’s not hard to see why that could be a problem for her re-election given Wyoming is one of the most supportive states for the former president. She is also vice chair of the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 riots in the Capitol.
With Donald Trump still enjoying a fairly strong base of support, Wyoming’s die-hard Trump supporters may be more inclined to vote for Hageman, and the polls seem to indicate so.
And those same people are pretty mad at their favorite TV cowboy, Kevin Costner, too.
People took to Twitter to blast Costner for the shirt, calling him a fake cowboy, part of the Hollywood elite, and a hypocrite.
This professional hypocrite is a lifelong Hollywood Democrat who never voted in Wyoming.

Liz Cheney just challenged the masculinity of the men in her state who disagree with a Hollywood liberal pretending to live there. Should end well.

Kevin Costner supports Liz Cheney..😂
I knew there was a reason why, unlike everyone else, I thought Yellowstone sucked. Also, I think he’s one of the most overrated actors in Hollywood. pic.twitter.com/7UZV86VPJg

That idiot voted for Biden, enough said! 🤡🤡🤡#ByeByeLizCheney👋🏻

Kevin Costner is a spoiled Hollywood boy. Don’t be fooled by film reels. When he’s not playing tough guy on TV, he’s sipping soy lattes with the other Betas.
— JJ (@JasJjunior) August 1, 2022
If that’s true and I doubt I’ve lost all respect for Kevin Costner!
— Bradley Reed—MAGA PATRIOT! (@bradleyreed88) August 2, 2022
Kevin Costner is the worst. Why can’t Hollywood just leave it in the dustbin of history where it belongs?
— Karen Bot 5000 (@AutoKaren) August 2, 2022
That’s not surprising. He’s not really rancher John Dutton. He is Hollywood actor Kevin Costner.
— Hernandez (@HernandezBen5) August 1, 2022
That is unfortunate. Kevin Costner was one of the few celebrities I could still tolerate.
It turns out he’s just like the rest of Hollywood’s delusional, soul-sucking sellout crowd. You all deserve each other.— Michael Mac (@MichaelMac614) August 1, 2022
That’s exactly why you’re being voted out, because you care more about the Hollywood elite than your own constituents. Kevin Costner plays a man in a TV series, but he doesn’t know a thing about the struggles of today’s farmers and ranchers in Wyoming or anywhere else.

Kevin Costner; California Hollywood elite live in Aspen, Colorado on a 160-acre estate, star in a television show that was shot and filmed in Montana, then support a Wyoming representative. The latest polls do not look favorable. All self-inflicted.

Your whole family is a corrupt wheel of warmongering. And … If Kevin Costner, a Hollywood elite, is what you call a real man, that explains a lot.

Haha – Kevin Costner – he’s the guy who’s never made a good gunless movie… HYPOCRITE
— F1BobbyUSA (@sometweetindude) August 1, 2022
Costner has previously described himself as an independent. He backed Pete Buttigieg in the 2020 primary but has previously denounced former President Trump but warned that all leaders should act in the country’s best interests.
He told the Daily Beast in 2020:
“I’m voting on who I think has the best interests in the country and how we sit in the world…TThe Democratic Party doesn’t represent everything I think, and neither does the Republican Party right now… not at all. So I find it too limiting.”
Of course, Costner’s character up yellowstone, John Dutton will be running for governor of Montana in season 5…which is scheduled to premiere on November 13th.
It happens! #YellowstoneTV Season 5 premieres on November 13, only on @ParamountNet. pic.twitter.com/1EuDxtbXon
