Two men arrested after hijacking of Tesco van

Two men have been arrested after a Tesco van was hijacked in Co Down.
Police received a report that the vehicle had been hijacked on Georges Street, Newtownards, just before 5pm on Friday.
It was reported that two men pushed the driver out of the van and escaped inside.
The van was then driven through Dundonald and Holywood by Newtownards before officers deployed a stinger device in Dee Street and brought the vehicle to a short distance on the Sydenham bypass outside Belfast.
Two men, aged 23 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of a range of offenses including kidnapping, using an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without a license and assaulting the police.
Both men are in custody and are helping officers with their investigations.
The PSNI said it had received a number of reports of collisions between the stolen van and other vehicles.
Officers are appealing to anyone involved in a collision who has not reported it to police to contact Detectives in Bangor on 101 quoting reference number 1273 05/08/22.
