Two suspects in the police network for defiling a hearing-impaired teenager

Two suspected rapists have been arrested by police in Nasarawa state for allegedly having unlawful sexual knowledge of a 15-year-old girl.

The suspects allegedly took advantage of the deaf victim to commit their unlawful act.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Public Relations Officer, said in a statement that a complaint was filed with the Obi Division that a Aminu Hashimu, 24, and Lukman Dogara, 18, both men from Owolosho Street, Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, criminally conspired and raped a 15-year-old teenager on March 2, 2023.

The statement said: “Upon receipt of the report, an investigation and manhunt was launched by Obi Division police officers to locate the suspects.”

He assured that the preliminary investigation had revealed that the suspects lured the hearing impaired victim to her flat in Okpe Street, Obi and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The PPRO further stated that the victim was immediately taken to a hospital for medical evaluation after the incident.

Maiyaki Baba, the state police commissioner, had ordered a full investigation into the case, according to the statement.
