Season 2 Episode 5 begins with Freydis be asked to “breathe” by a midwife. She gave birth to her child. She tells everyone not to touch her. She doesn’t trust anyone. Freydis goes outside with her baby bump. Gudrid wants to help her, but Freydis enters the temple and asks her to leave. Freydis is in labor pains and asks the gods for help.

He then tells the people that Freydis is sick from birth and asks them to pray for her. Afterwards, Gudrid tells Jorundr to admit to Harekr that he made a mistake. And so Jorundr begs Harekr for forgiveness, saying that a refugee woman made a fool of him. Harekr tells Jorundr to kill Freydis so he can trust him again.

Harold, Leif, and their travelers sail on. You need to fix something on the boat and you need a metal strap. kurya advises that they go kodak nearby and camping. While Leif and Harald are leaving for Kodak, one of the travelers (yesterday) is interested in the gold medallion in the area Lord Vitomir’s daughter Neck. He wants it.

Leif and Harald arrive at Kodak’s markets and see that there has been a raid there. You will find some metal that will help fix the boat. Harald tells Leif that he loves Mariam but that she dies. He doesn’t want his friend to get hurt again. Harald then tells Leif that he will marry Freydis. Leif reveals to Harald that Freydis is carrying his child. Harald is upset; he can’t believe he hasn’t been told that until now. Leif tells Harald that his sister did the best for him.

In London, Queen Emma pray to God asking to be cleansed of their sins after being tortured and killed aelfwynn. In the meantime, Princess Gytha joins Godwin at the grave of Aelfwynn to show respect.

Jorundr is looking for Freydis in the temple. Freydis attacks Jorundr, but he calms her down and explains that Harekr intends to kill her. Jorundr wants her to go without her son. Freydis insists she is not leaving without her son. Jorundr tells her he will find a way.

More men join the travelers’ camp. The Varangians then realize they are being tricked, but by this time they are drunk. Baggi grabs Mariam and threatens to kill her unless they lay down their guns. Baggi’s men attack Kurya. Lord Vitomir’s daughter offers the medallion – it belongs to the Emperor of Constantinople. But timing is everything; Harald and Leif return to her aid. The freed women then grab their traitor, Gestr, and stab him deeply three times until he dies.

Jorundr brings Freydis her son. They then fake Freydi’s death by wrapping her in a cloth with the baby. She is escorted out of the gate in a carriage. But then the carriage stops. Jorundr hears something so he takes a look. Harekr confronts him. Jorundr tries to explain that he is burying Freydis but Harekr laughs. Jorundr is suddenly surrounded and Harekr tells him that he will kill them both.

Harekr checks the carriage; Freydis is gone, but the baby is still there.

In London, Emma ponders whether she murdered an innocent woman. She asks for clarification as guilt weighs heavily on her. And then Emma learns that Godwin is outside in a tavern talking to a man named Cooper. You’ve met a man associated with the assassination John (the “bear”).
