Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 Summary

We recap Crunchyroll and Netflix anime series Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19, “War at Ketil’s Farm” which contains spoilers.

Thor finn (Yuto Uemura), Einar (Shunsuke Takeuchi)And Arnheid (Mayumi Sako) have all had to deal with the consequences of their actions over the past week and it didn’t end well for Arnheid at least.

Whether she survives the beating or not Ketil (Hideaki Tezuka) released her remains, but her chances don’t seem high. While things are looking a little better for Thorfinn and Einar, thanks Leif’s arrivalthings on the farm only seem to be getting worse Canute’s imminent arrival.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 Summary

The episode begins with Ketil gathering 350 men to fight with him. Fox asks Line when he thinks they stand a chance against Canute, especially considering most men aren’t fighters, but Snake says they don’t know their enemy is the king. Most men are only there to get their debts paid off.

Is Thorfinn going with Leif?

As Canute’s army draws near, Thorfinn considers going with Leif, but chooses to stay behind with Einar and Arnheid instead. So Leif says they can wait another day to see if Arnheid’s condition improves.

What does Canute’s messenger say to Ketil?

Canute sends a messenger to Ketil to tell him that his family’s life is being spared only as a courtesy following his sentence to ten years of outlawry. Usually these crimes warrant the death penalty, the messenger says, before urging them to flee, or Canute will expect an answer by morning.

Canute’s army numbers around 100 men, less than a third of Ketil’s. Although Canute has fewer men, all of his men are experienced fighters.

Snake knew the real “Iron Fist Ketil” from a young age and knows that this Ketil is not the true legend but a hoax. Ketil fools everyone into believing he is the same legendary warrior as “Iron Fist Ketil” because they share the same name.

Can Thorfinn and Einar escape from the farm with Leif?

While Ketil is at war with Canute, Thorfinn, Einar and even Arnheid flee the farm with Leif and Bug-Eyes.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 19 ending explained

Arnheid slowly wakes up, although she is still frail. At the same time that Canute’s men appear to be massacring Ketil’s men in the distance, Thorgil slowly sneaks up behind Canute with intent to kill him.

I’m almost torn after watching this week’s episode because despite the impressive storytelling, I almost don’t want it to end like this. However, these are the realities of war; Last but not least, Vinland Saga has always managed to embody this perfectly.

Still, it was exciting to watch the action and combat that certainly captivated many viewers in the first season. Once again, this series does not disappoint.
