As a result of this scandal, the Duggar family reality show was cancelled, although it soon resumed under a different name. Count on. The new show focused on other Duggar siblings growing up, getting married and starting families of their own. Josh wasn’t part of the show. He later became involved in the Ashley Madison leak, a dating site specifically for affairs, and was revealed to have cheated on his wife Anna.

Can no longer hide from consequences

Now, however, there are real consequences to Josh’s actions. As a teenager, his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were able to use Josh’s youth to protect him from the law, but that’s no longer the case. Josh’s stay at the Federal Correctional Institution will be nothing like life as he has known it.

According to the FCI Inmate Conduct Manual, Josh is expected to clean his accommodation, both floors and walls, on a daily basis. His bed has to be made by 7:30 am on weekdays, so he has to get used to getting up extra early every day unless his work duties force him to work the night shift.

Details of work assignment

When not in his quarters, Josh is given a work assignment that is mandatory for all prisoners. Work orders may cover the following departments: Facilities/Mechanical Services, Hospitality and Financial Management/Commercial Office.

There are also jobs in the Federal Prison Industries (FPI), the largest single employer of prison inmates. It’s a more exclusive option for inmates who can work in a garment factory, in the office, or as part of quality control.

During his time in prison, Josh has access to health and mental health services and is also able to attend church services. Even in his free time, he can enjoy leisure activities as long as he follows the rules. It’s nothing like the life he used to know; that’s for sure.
