What we know about the lockdown at 90 Parkgate, Darlington

Police set up a cordon this morning (6th August) and several police vehicles were at the scene in Parkgate, Darlington, opposite the Hippodrome.

A police car and a van stayed at the scene for a while before the latter drove off, leaving an officer at the scene.

The police are currently still on site and the cordon is still in place this afternoon.

A small police cordon still surrounds 90 Parkgate.

The reason for the lockdown is unknown, speculation has been circulating online, but Durham Police have yet to comment.

An officer was stationed in front of the building for most of the day.

The Northern Echo have contacted Durham Police for more information on the incident.
