One Piece Odyssey is finally live. Fans of the shounen manga and anime series will have a blast trying out some of the amazing gameplay features that ILCA has brought to the table.
The title is an open-world role-playing game in which you can freely explore the island of Waford with Luffy and his Straw Hat crew.
Since the open world is vast, there are many methods of unlocking fast travel points to make traversing around Waford much easier. Once you’ve unlocked multiple fast travel points in the game, Luffy will allow you to travel great distances at a much faster pace.
However, fast travel points aren’t something you can access once the game begins. You need to make some progress in the narrative to use the feature.
For those still confused on how to travel great distances quickly in Waford, today’s guide covers how and when to unlock fast travel in One Piece Odyssey.
You need to Defeat Yosai Thug for unlocking and using fast travel in One Piece Odyssey
As previously mentioned, once the game’s narrative begins, you cannot use the fast travel feature in One Piece Odyssey. You must make a significant amount of progress in the game before you have a chance to unlock the feature.
One Piece Odessey has a fairly slow narrative structure, and the game happily takes its time explaining all the different mechanics for you to enjoy. The tutorials are somewhat sporadic and it will take you hours to finally finish all of them.
Unlocking a fast travel point in Waford is one of the many tutorial missions you can complete. Once you’ve made some progress in the game, you’ll have an opportunity to unlock this feature.
To be able to fast travel in One Piece Odyssey you have to use the Yosai characters that are located all over the map. There are many of these characters throughout the map. In order to be able to use them, you must first activate them.
However, before you can use the fast travel feature in One Piece Odyssey for the first time, you must first defeat the Yosai Goons. The encounter is triggered after Nami’s wallet is stolen.
However, this happens much later in Chapter 2, when you can make your way to Alabasta and have already completed some of the game’s first tutorials and stages.
When the second chapter begins in Alabasta, you’ll have to make your way through the Canyon of No Return and then through the desert area of the map in search of Vivi. Here the Yosai will steal Nami’s wallet and start the tutorial mission to activate Yosai characters and unlock fast travel points in One Piece Odyssey.
