Where are they based?
3 Stonegate, York
How long has the business been around?
four years
What is sold?
Country lifestyle clothing for women including brands such as: Fairfax & Favour, Holland Cooper, Schoffel, Dubarry
Why is this dealer special?
Wild & Westbrooke is a family run, independent business selling women’s clothing, shoes and accessories for both the city and country lifestyle. We opened our shop in Lendal in October 2018, but within three years we quickly outgrew it. In March 2022 we moved to a larger store at 3 Stonegate in the heart of York with two floors which has enabled us to expand our collection and stock a wider range of brands including Fairfax & Favour, Holland Cooper, Dubarry and our latest Schöffel brand, which is already enjoying great popularity. Due to the growth of these collections since opening, we now have an entire floor dedicated to shoes and accessories. Since launching our online shop we now also have a large following on our website and social media which has helped our business to grow across the UK.

How has it adapted during the Covid-19 crisis?
We launched our online shop during the Covid-19 lockdown. It has always been the plan to sell online, but the closure of our store accelerated our plans. Since then, the online side of our business has grown more and more and works very well alongside our brick-and-mortar business. We have also communicated with our customers via social media and are very grateful that our customers have continued to support us even during the difficult years of Covid.

Favorite story about this company?
Many of our customers, whether locals or tourists, discover our store while shopping in York. But we had one customer who regularly shopped with us online after discovering our store via social media during lockdown. After being happy with our online service, she decided to make the long journey from Cornwall to visit our store and meet us in person. She loved York so much that she has since returned and plans to make the trip every year.
