One of the most sought-after candidates in the upcoming NFL draft season will be CJ Stroud. However, the question remains: will Stroud declare his intention to break into the pro ranks, even if it’s likely to be just a formality?
CJ Stroud has not yet officially declared himself for the NFL Draft
The Ohio State signal caller has had a stellar season and is expected to finish in the top 10 at the next player selection meeting in April this year. Back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year is right there with fellow collaborators Will Levis and Bryce Young as some of the best prospects around.
Is CJ Stroud the answer for an NFL team?
Stroud led the Buckeyes to a winning record last year, throwing for 41 touchdowns and maintaining a 177.7 pass efficiency per sport reference. It goes without saying that Stroud led his conference in pretty much every statistical category related to quarterback play. Stroud was number one in total yards (37.96), total touchdowns (41), total yards per game (8.7), and was also third in passing completions (258) during the 2022 season.
While Stroud has yet to officially declare himself for the NFL draft as of this writing, it would be shocking if he didn’t do so very soon. Some mock designs, like the current one by Focus on professional football, currently have Stroud slated to join the Las Vegas Raiders. PFF also gave Stroud an 88.9 overall rating for last season. His 57.7 run score has hurt his stock a bit, but he’s still a promising next-level talent.
We can expect an announcement from CJ Stroud very soon.
