the glory is the newest Netflix K drama and one of the few since Squid Game you could say it sparked the same kind of fervent mainstream interest. While it might not be as memorable, the revenge drama was a smash hit for the streaming platform, both in December 2022 when it debuted Part 1and in March 2023 when it debuted Part 2.

The story is about a woman named Dong-eun who, almost twenty years after graduating from high school, begins to take revenge on the thugs who made her life miserable. Her plans are complex, targeting everyone from the ringleader, a now-famous weather forecaster with a wealthy husband, to her acolytes and the tutors who didn’t step in. But she’s also taking revenge on someone else’s behalf and begins recruiting allies who have their own reasons to help her.

From our review of Part 1:

The other difficulty with a story like this is making sure we get the victim’s point of view years later. Dong-eun isn’t chasing her old goons by accident; She has dedicated her whole life to the cause, obsessively following her life and plotting how to ruin it. She thinks openly about killing. Forgiveness is never considered. For us to buy it, the brutality of her torment during her school days is portrayed in great detail and at great length and length the glory an awkward watch.

Part 2 finds Dong-eun in a much more advantageous position. With the help of amateur PI Hyun-nam (Yeon Hye-ran) and her love interest Yeo-jeong (Lee Do-hyun), she’s stuck to a pretty substantial compromise that immediately raises the stakes when we get into the back half shoot of the season. The dynamic has also changed significantly, with the arrogant bullies on the ropes attacking each other out of desperation, trying to think of unconventional solutions to prevent Dong-eun from delivering the killing blow she has in mind.

Both parts were huge hits for Netflix, leading fans to speculate the glory K-Drama is canceled, especially given the streaming giant’s penchant for scrapping even its popular shows. Here’s everything we know.

Will there be a part 3 of The Glory on Netflix?

The first season of the glory was divided into two parts with eight episodes. Some outlets incorrectly labeled Part 2 as “the glory Season 2″, but that’s not the case. Part 1 and Part 2 consist of a single season with sixteen episodes and a single continuous story.

But will there be a part 3? Let’s just say it’s unlikely. the glory K-Drama ended on a relatively strong and cohesive note, with an extra lengthy finale that tied up virtually every loose end from the last 15 hours. Thematically, the show is very much about lost people who manage to find themselves, or at least invent new versions of themselves, and most managed to do that in the end.

However, there is a lot of potential for the glory Season 2, since Part 2 ends actually creates a dynamic between the main characters that would allow them to take on more revenge missions in subsequent stories. However, that would go somewhat against the thematic core of the first season, and it’s hard to imagine there would be a conscious effort to continue the show with fewer personal stakes. Instead, one imagines that this was just a fun and slightly ambiguous way of leaving the door open for viewers to speculate about the future of these characters.
