There’s a lot to be said for that successor is not only the best TV show airing right now, but it’s one of the very best of all time. The fourth season in particular, especially since then, has delivered one banger after another the third episode turned Jesse Armstrong’s donkey universe on its head by bravely killing its most significant character.

Jesse Armstrong has already confirmed that this fourth season will be the last in the Roy saga.

The show is critically acclaimed and extremely popular, so this is primarily an artistic choice. successor was never the kind of show to stretch out for many seasons, but after the change in episode 3 it certainly looks like the story has become a bit different that could potentially have gone to a whole new place.

Not to mention the fact that ab the penultimate episode of the seasonit’s still virtually impossible to predict not only what will happen, but how each character arc and subplot might find a satisfying ending.

This, of course, fuels speculation about another season, and it’s no secret that the cast, and maybe even Armstrong himself, have been thinking and talking about what it might look like. The most likely outcome is a spin-off in the same universe with some of the same characters.
