Woodbine Ent. Editions Thoroughbred Calendar 2023 – Casino Reports

On Monday, March 6, 2023, Woodbine Entertainment announced its full schedule of engagements for the highly anticipated 2023 Thoroughbred racing season at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario. This season’s schedule features over CA$17 million in prize money, including 39 tiered stakes, five Grade 1 events, as well as the prestigious The King’s Plate and Ricoh Woodbine Mile.

The Thoroughbred will officially start on Saturday 22nd April and run until Sunday 10th December 2023. There will be 133 race dates in total but the number will be under review in consultation with regulators and the horseracing community. If there are reduced race dates, individual races will be held as in the previous year.

Action-packed 2023 season

In his press dated Monday, March 6, 2023, the horse racing leader provided his full thoroughbred action schedule. Once again, the season is highlighted by The King’s Platethat was recently renamed. To celebrate International Women’s Day, Woodbine Entertainment will again host an all-female trotting race at its Standardbred track, Woodbine Mohawk Park. The special event will take place on March 9th, 2023 and will again see 10 female riders at the start. Last year’s edition of the race was captured by Natasha Day on the running mare Mach My Kiss.
