The Action Poker Tour is the brainchild of the Irish poker grinder Jason Tompkin. Anyone who has sat at the online poker tables for the last 15 years has no doubt come across it “blaaaaah666”, Eventually the famous nickname of Tompkins. Tompkins has assembled an outstanding team for the Action Poker Tour which includes the following Liam Delaney (Tournament Director) and Irish poker legend and author Dara O’Kearney (Travel Ambassador).
About the Main Event of the Action Poker Tour Ireland
Tompkins and his team have created a progressive watch for the blind structure, and it makes interesting reading. Everyone in the €300 buy-in Main Event (€267+€33) sits down at the table with 50,000 chips. The first level has blinds of 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. This opening level lasts one hour, the next three levels last 20 minutes each. The remaining 11 levels on Day 1 are 30 minutes long. There is a tag 1C with turbo structure where 10 minute levels are in play.
Day 2 begins with a half-hour clock for the first eight levels before expanding to a 40-minute clock until there are only six players left. The levels then reduce to 30 minutes and then 20 minutes once only a trio of players are fighting for the title.

Day 1A mixes things up and takes action 13:00 GMT on March 24thscheduled with day 1B 6:00 p.m. on the same day. There is a Turbo Day 1C coming up 11:00 am on March 25th, which has a ten-minute clock. Day 2 starts at 2:00 p.m. on March 25with play continuing until a champion is crowned.
Late registrations remain open until the second break at the end of the eighth level. If you buy in this late, you will enter the mix with a big blind stack of 25.
Side events and cash games
The Action Poker Tour gives you the opportunity to play in all starting flights and uses a “Best Stack Forward Policy” which means you can advance to Day 2 more than once and lose your smaller stacks. However, the organizers do not recommend losing any stack that is five big blinds or more.
