This competition is the tightest in Week 5 as defenders are currently 1.5 point road favorites. Saturday’s double-header ends with the winless teams battling it out, and online sportsbooks are expecting Orlando’s woes to continue. The Guardians are currently catching 7 points, making them the biggest dog on the board.

DC Defenders vs St Louis BattleHawks Picks
DC started the week with the second shortest odds for the XFL championship, just behind Houston. They come into play with the best running game in the league, hitting an XFL High Seven Rushing TD and providing three of the top five rushers in the league.
They also have the second best defense. They score just 17.5 points per game and rank second in turnovers and sacks. They faced BattleHawks QB AJ McCarron four times in their Week 3 win while picking him up twice.
Sacks have been a big problem for St. Louis so far, but they were 28 points behind DC two weeks ago, the most the defenders have conceded all season.

The BattleHawks were better protected last week and kept McCarron clean. He’s been lethal with throwing time this year, throwing 9 TD passes in four weeks and the third most yards in the league.
The BattleHawks have made it their mission to sell out their stadium again after mesmerizing over 38,000 fans against Arlington last week. The Renegades called the scene the loudest and craziest in the XFL, and St. Louis responded with a dominant 24-11 win. Look for them to put on a show for the home crowd again.
Choice: St. Louis BattleHawks +1.5 (-110)

Orlando Guardians vs Vegas Vipers tips
Not only are Orlando and Vegas both winless, but they also finish last and second-last in terms of points allowed. They have the two worst points differentials according to XFL stats, but the Vipers offense has shown promise lately.
They scored 18 points against a very good DC defense last week, with Luis Perez throwing two points. Whether it’s Perez or former NFL player Brett Hundley taking center stage, they should succeed, but that doesn’t mean they’re worth putting down 7 points.

Instead of aiming for one side, let’s focus on the over. The Vipers’ defense hasn’t stopped anyone all season and the Guardians’ offense finally showed life last week. Paxton Lynch and Charleston Rambo tied on an XFL-long 81-yard TD while the team rushed for a season-best 341 yards.
The over is 3-1 in both Orlando and Vegas this season and this clash is turning into a high-scoring affair as well.
Selection: Over 42 (-110)
Arlington Renegades vs. San Antonio Brahmas picks
Just four weeks ago, Arlington was considered one of the favorites to win the title. Since then, they have lost three straight games, while San Antonio has lost two straight.
The Brahmas featured in every game thanks to their defense but couldn’t recreate the magic of their 30-point performance against Orlando in Week 2.
XFL Championship Odds
player | opportunities |
---|---|
Houston bullies | +160 |
DC defenders | +170 |
St.Louis BattleHawks | +550 |
Seattle Sea Dragons | +800 |
Arlington Renegades | +1000 |
San Antonio Brahmas | +2000 |
Vegas vipers | +3500 |
Orlando Guardians | +5000 |
They go into the game with just 17 points per game despite playing three of the league’s top four offense. Expect them to dominate against a Renegades team allergic to the end zone. Arlington have picked up just 21 points overall over the past two weeks and managed just 10 points against the Guardians League’s worst defense.
The Renegades’ defense is also their forte, but St. Louis had no trouble putting up 24 points and more than 320 yards of offense against them last week.
Choice: San Antonio Brahmas -3 (-110)
