Yasmeen meddles in Stu’s dark past

Coronation Street spoilers for next week reveal Yasmeen is taking it upon himself to help Stu face his past.

But how will he take it if she interferes?

Is she doing the right thing? Or is she just finding out something about her Corrie lodger that she doesn’t like?

Stu is reminded of his past

It’s clear that Stu has been struggling lately, with thoughts of his long-lost family stuck in his head.

After getting drunk at work (in a dry restaurant) and confiding in Zeedan about his family problems, he seems to be coping better.

However, when Zee’s buddy invites him to Athens for a week, it hits Stu hard.

Although the chef encourages Zeedan to go on break and even offers to fill in for him at work, he’s clearly still upset.

Coronation Street spoilers: Yasmeen chimes in

Yasmeen senses that something is wrong and Stu later enthusiastically recounts his past family vacations in Athens.

Yasmeen senses how badly he wants to reconnect with his family and urges Stu not to give up. She tells him to try to track down his daughter.

However, it doesn’t take long for Yasmeen to take matters into her own hands.

She confides in Zeedan that she has decided to track down Stu’s daughter herself. Is that really a good idea?

What happened in Stu’s past?

We know Stu lost touch with his family after a stint in prison.

But until now we have no idea why he was in prison.

Stu became homeless after losing his job during the pandemic.

He befriended Kelly Neelan while she was on the road and was eventually taken in by Yasmeen Nazir.

The pair clearly have feelings for each other, and show boss Iain MacLeod told Entertainment Daily! and other media in January: “The story focuses on budding romance.

“Yasmeen’s lack of self-esteem and that she has given way to the realization that this man really likes her.

“Then the big question mark is whether she can overcome the damage Geoff has done and embrace a happy future.”

Is Yasmeen jeopardizing that future by interfering in Stu’s life?

Will his past prove darker than she thinks?

And what is he hiding?

Coronation Street normally airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
