York: Frequent and severe thunderstorms are forecast for the weekend
BBC Weather forecasts the storms will intensify on Sunday afternoon (September 10).
Forecasters say the weekend in York will begin on Saturday, with a few isolated thundershowers possible in places and temperatures reaching highs of 28C.
According to the BBC, Sunday will start with fog which will lift to become a sunny morning.
But it goes on to say: “In the afternoon clouds will come up and there will be frequent, sometimes violent thunderstorms.”
Temperatures remain very warm on Sunday, peaking at 26°C in York.
