York Knights hooker Will Jubb is happy about the Challenge Cup duel

The Knights will advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2004 if they beat the London Broncos challenge on Sunday (3pm).

Jubb is looking forward to a chance to play in the quarter-finals and expects a tough game against a side from London who narrowly defeated York 30-28 just over a week ago.

Andrew Henderson’s side will hope for a fourth straight win on Sunday after beating Newcastle Thunder, London and Newcastle again in the cup and league.

“It’s great, it’s a very prestigious and historic competition with a lot of history.” Jubb admitted.

“Having a chance to potentially play in the quarter-finals is something that not many people get, so it’s a huge opportunity for us and we’ll do our best to try and get a result to go through to the next round get.

“We’ll take each week as it comes anyway and London will come too to do their best and we’ll do the same.

“Hopefully we can perform better together and get a result.

“They will do everything they can to beat us this time as it was so close last time. It’s our job to make sure we perform to get that result again and be better than we’ve been in the last two weeks.”

In other news from the Knights, Wakefield Trinity loanee Oli Pratt has been recalled ahead of Friday’s Betfred Challenge Cup game against the Leigh Leopards.

Pratt will again be available for selection for the Knights after the Betfred Championship restarts.
